  Venga España!

A trip to Spain is a celebration of diversity, an opportunity to enjoy our excellent climate, cuisine and life style.

Travelling in Spain is a chance to discover our exceptional monumental heritage; to experience our unique, dazzling natural environment; to become acquainted with the customs of our people, and to share with them their holiday celebrations and popular traditions. Taking a trip to Spain means to live an experience that you will never forget.

All around Spain, there is plenty of places to visit. From the capital city Madrid to all remote areas in Spain, it is an exciting country to visit. In the South region of Andalucía, The Sierra Nevada National Park, situated to the south-east of Granada and extends to the eastern end of Almería. It combines smooth areas with other very rugged ones. Mulhacén and Veleta, the highest peaks on the mainland are situated here. It is an extraordinary landscape site, with a morphology of glacial origin, forests and different areas of natural vegetation.

Ruta del Califato
in the Andalucía region, is an adventure of the spirit: from Córdoba to Granada, two upsets of history, two unrepeatable moments, two golden ages. Córdoba, the pinnacle, the blinding light which made the remaining cities of the West pale into insignificance. Granada, the refined terminal mannerism of a whole civilization living its final moments. And between them, the castles, the cities which were first staging posts or markers for a more or less haphazard exchange, and later a camp and a base to lay siege to Granada. This route is not just a lesson in history. It is also aesthetic enjoyment, and pleasure for the senses.

In the north-west, in the Galician region you can make El Camino de Santiago route, registered in 1993 as a World Heritage Site. This is the route, from the French-Spanish border, which was and still is followed by pilgrims travelling to Santiago de Compostela. Along the route there are around 1800 buildings, both religious and secular, of great historical value. The Route played a fundamental role in the cultural exchange between the Iberian Peninsula and the rest of Europe during the Middle Ages. It is still testimony to the Christian faith in people of all social classes from all over Europe.

Costa del Sol

Beaches and resorts are becoming extremely popular in Spain. Costa del Sol takes up about 300 kilometres of the Mediterranean littoral that corresponds to the province of Malaga. Protected from the northern winds by a mountain chain that in some parts comes down to meet the sea, this sheltered coast is shaped by a succession of extensive beaches, coves almost hidden between cliffs, marinas and anchorage for fishing.  The proximity of such different landscapes -the mountain, the valleys blanketed in vegetable gardens and the sea- is, without a doubt, one of the greatest attractions of this coastline which combine all the appeal of the Mediterranean landscape and culture. Residential areas, marinas, golf clubs, entertainment centres, nightclubs and many more tourist attractions have been built around and now coexist within the peaceful ambience of country villages, which have astonishingly conserved their traditional town centres. Summer beach holidays and all the appeal that this can offer along this stretch of the Mediterranean is not, however, the only attractions offered by the Costa del Sol.
